Belfountain Falls has been extensively modified by the creation of a dam that significantly increases the height of the falls. There is plenty of concrete in evidence at the crest of the falls, giving it an appearance of being "purely ornamental".
A suspension bridge has been constructed a few metres downstream from the falls affording a good view of the falls, however the large crowds constantly crossing the bridge make long exposure photography more or less impossible, as the bridge shakes when it is walked upon.
